These kids are really young. It is good to see kids who are making video clips about literature and history. A little cheesy, but they did good job for a home video. I can't even imagine what soldiers in Vietnam went through. -anna-
I do have to say that the video is a little cheesy, but the kids did do a good job at acting out this short video of "The things they carried." Kids who have the time to act out a video on history and a well wrote story should be honored. Atleast that and not out making trouble.
With Tim O'Brien's writing style, I certainly felt some of the weight of the soldiers and everything they carried. And I thought that Jimmy Cross should have stopped worrying about Martha way before Lavender was killed. -lindsay
As corny as the video was, the kids managed to get across the points they were trying to make. If I ever had to fight in a war I would be terrified and to lose people that you care for is extremely stressful and upsetting. -lindsay
The kids made a better video than I ever could- especially something like "The Things They Carried." About the reading assignment? I really don't have much to say. But I liked the symbolism of leaving things behind and getting over them.
For a couple teenagers making a home video, that was pretty good. The music and the overall mood of the video went along great with the story. It did a good job portraying that it was not only material things that were carried with the soldiers, but fear, death, family, etc... The tale told was certainly an emotional one.
